Noir Contour — stretched canvas, 12 × 18 in. product preview; no outer decorative frame is included with this finish.
Stretched canvas is already a dimensional object: the printed fabric is tensioned over a stretcher. Float-framed canvas adds an outer frame around that object. The choice changes the boundary of the artwork and the space it occupies on your wall.
Look at the edge
Without an outer frame, the wrapped canvas sides remain part of the presentation. A float frame adds a separate border with a visible gap around the canvas. That shadow line can make the artwork feel more distinctly outlined, especially on a wall similar in colour to the image.
Consider the room's existing lines
If the room has dark window frames, a black outer frame may repeat that architectural rhythm. If you prefer a quieter transition, compare a natural finish and the canvas without an outer frame. Noir Contour's dark silhouette makes this a useful exercise: assess the frame against both the charcoal shape and the ivory background.
Measure the finished footprint
Do not assume the named canvas dimensions equal the outside dimensions of the framed option. The frame and gap add width and height. Ask for the finished measurement if the work must fit a panelled recess or a tight space between lights.
Compare the complete purchase
- Is the outer frame included in the selected option?
- Does the preview show the selected colour?
- How does the side profile look from the doorway?
- Which hanging components are included?
Our listed canvas options do not include hanging hardware. Plan appropriate fixings for the actual object and wall rather than assuming the word “framed” means everything required for installation is supplied.
Neither finish changes the artwork into an original painting. The image remains a printed reproduction; the presentation is the decision you are making.
