Acrylic Wall Art: Panel Thickness and Total Depth

Offset Planes in Antique Glass — Acrylic panel, 16 × 20 in; Product preview showing this finish in a representative size.

preview of Offset Planes in Antique Glass on an acrylic panel, 16 × 20 in. Mounting depth is additional to the 10 mm panel.

The thickness of an acrylic panel is not the same as the total distance the finished artwork projects from the wall. A backing or mounting system adds depth behind the panel, so both measurements matter when planning its position.

Ask for the right measurement

Our mapped acrylic family uses a 10 mm panel. That number describes the acrylic itself. If a work will sit beside a door, within a recess or in a narrow hallway, also check the complete mounted depth and required installation clearance.

Read the side view

A genuine angled preview is useful for understanding the edge and the space behind the image. The polished acrylic face can appear very different from a canvas texture. Reflections in a mockup illustrate the surface; they are not a promise that your room will produce the same light.

Keep the pictured subject separate from the material

Offset Planes in Antique Glass is a printed composition inspired by translucent forms. Choosing an acrylic finish does not turn the depicted planes into separate pieces of glass. The artwork remains a flat printed image presented as a physical panel.

Plan the mounting location

Confirm the exact hanging system supplied with your selected size. Follow its installation guidance and use wall fixings suited to the wall construction and finished weight. Never infer weight capacity from the appearance of a concealed support in a preview.

Check the view from everyday positions

Stand where you enter the room, sit in the main chair and look along the wall. A glossy surface can reflect a bright window differently from each point. Choose the position where you can enjoy the image, while maintaining practical clearance.

See our guide to artwork finishes for construction details, and confirm the available dimensions on your chosen artwork’s product page.
